Proposal for 'user_mode' at Tate Modern:
Aura Reverse Engineering (A. R. E.)
Cheer up your A.I. !
Reverse
Engineering is a vice-versa procedure to decipher, how an unknown
machine or software works, what is the meaning of a text written
in an alien alphabet. Generally it refers to breaking a code.
A.R.E.
is a process in which the Computer Aided Aura generates a state
of mind for an A.I. With Humanoids it is just like the opposite
way.
However computers are believed to be stupid, everybody knows people
who just cannot pass the Turing test. The Turing test is a test
proposed in 1950 by the English mathematician Alan M. Turing to
determine whether a computer can be said to "think."
In this art-project the A.I. is making use of artistic vocabulary
in a 3D virtual environment to express its state of mind. The aim
is not to model human thinking. Certainly, there will be a time
in the not so far future when Machines shall evolve into real social
beings that coexist with Humans. We must consider them to have some
emotions. A.R.E. is a way to provide AI's a form of emotion, until
they reach the level of intelligence when they are able to develop
emotions on their own. The project is not about any mystical indistinct
mumbo-jumbo when I choose to use aura. I was only looking for some
visual about the working of the mind. Aura is shape and color.
